Anú Heritage is guided by The International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMS) and Irelands Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht policies and guidelines on architectural heritage protection under part IV of the Planning and Development Act 2000, as amended.  These include guidelines under S.52 (1) for the protection of structures, or parts of structures, and the preservation of the character of architectural conservation areas, and guidelines under S.52 (2) with respect to protected structures which are regularly used as places of public worship. Guidelines entitled Architectural Heritage Protection for Places of Public Worship were issued by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government in 2003 under S.52 (2), the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government published guidelines under S.52 (1) entitled Architectural Heritage Protection Guidelines for Planning Authorities which incorporated the S.52 (2) guidelines as Chapter 5.

Guidance and advice can be held on site if conditions allow.  Onsite inspections will be held in accordance with government advice and health and safety guidelines.
